WHAT WE ARE
The Mid Hudson Food and Wine Society is an organization of individuals with a common interest in the enjoyment, study and art of food and wine. The Society meets at area restaurants, wine tastings, seminars, food demonstrations, winery tours and other special events which are of an educational and enjoyable nature.
The Society has been fortunate in having the premier classical cooking school in the country located here, The Culinary Institute of America, and has had a long established close relationship with the CIA. We maintain a showcase in their hall and have sponsored annual competitions and scholarships for their students. The CIA designates one of their staff to act as liaison with the Society.
HOW IT WORKS
A membership entitles two people to participate in Society events. Although this usually encompasses couples, singles are encouraged to join and bring a companion to events. Occasionally guests are admitted at a slightly higher price. The annual meeting, usually held in October, is always limited to members only. Membership is for a season ranging from January through the following December.
Seatings are usually at tables with six to ten places. We encourage our members to mix and meet new friends at our dinners. We believe that you will find your fellow members to be people that you will enjoy having as dinner companions.
To apply for membership, please click on the application button to the left, print the form and fill in,mail it as per instructions with your first years dues of $50 per couple ($35 for a single).
